Hey there, young Peripherists!

The topic for today’s blog is The DramaQueens.

You know those girls in school who walk around with their boyfriends, thinking they’ve got it “in the bag”. They are obnoxiously loud, crude, vulgar, and they continuously stab you in the back when you aren’t paying attention. Face it, we’ve all got one person in our lives like this. Whether it be your sister, your gay bestfriend, your ex-girlfriend or even your ex-boyfriend; we know someone who contributes to the nation’s rising idiocy of snobitis. Yes, Snobitis.

So, today’s question is: How on earth do we deal with those infected with this sickly trait? Do we ignore their attempts to sabotage us in order for them to achieve their “limelight”? Or do we stand up against them, risking a relationship?

-Saving the planet one grammatical error at a time,

Empty by Corrine Fizer

Pounding, Pounding so loud I can’t think. Pouring, pouring outside your window. Sweet words I’ve come to know, now replaced by your shadow. Are you happy now? Now my arms are empty, the air I breathe is so empty. Can’t I please, I’m praying, just make me feel empty.   Yelling, Yelling words we both won’t

One step behind (2) BY Corrine Fizer

Chapter 2 Jason and Michael went off through the groups of dancing teenagers to go get lemonade while Sonyah stayed behind with Anna. Sonyah hesitated, looking at the ceiling as Anna stared off at her good friend, Jess, who was dancing with some guy who was in Anna’s English Class. Sonyah licked her lips and

Sometimes…

Sometimes you have little moments that make you feel invincible. You feel as though you are bound to do anything and everything. You feel alive and the blood rushes to your cheeks. You have no idea what makes you feel this beautiful until one day, it vanishes. It vanishes just as if it were

Two things were obvious, one he had stood me up; two I would probably kill or severely hurt him the next time he showed his face around me. The dinner of spaghetti that I had cooked had gone cold by seven; I had changed my clothes at eight. Now at the hour of nine o’clock

One Step Behind (13′)

Anna, the days have gone slow when not spent with you and your beautiful eyes. I hope you miss me as much as I have missed you. I have actually written many more letters since our time apart. I’ve spent many days thinking of only you and your sweet smile. I know we’ve had a difficult

“There is nothing here or there” -Dindella Amagu (’12)

There is nothing here or there, Just a blank plank on the sea, There is only solitude for eternity. Like a gypsy trekking trees and foam, Or like a wounded hive or bee, There is nothing here or there. Here I am a Greek from Rome, Arm where upon, no elbow, a knee, There is

“One night I sat upon my hill” -Dindella Amagu (’12)

One night I sat upon my hill On which the sky did fall. Divine tears onto which they kill, Oh, ice upon my wall. Blue sapphires whose tears they hide, Whose red soul they dout freeze, And which upon the ground does slide, The ice upon my knees. Give thy a hand to hold unto,

“The Best Years”- By Garret Roberts(’11)

“Ah, enjoy it while you can!” “The best four years of your life!” “It goes by so fast!” That’s right: High School, where life experiences flow like Wonka’s chocolate river.  Or at least that’s what you’d think from the way those raisins yammer.  I sigh in disbelief at the poor, young, noodle-headed boy seated on

“I think of you”- Anissa Lee (’12)

The only thing keeping me alive while dealing with this abuse is you. When he lashes out at me,  I think of you and your crooked smile Tt always made me giggle. When his hand starts to rise, I think of you and your shiny blue eyes  They always seemed to sparkle. When his hand
